Certificate minimum-data checker

Score a certificate against the Institute’s minimum data standard, with critical fields weighted separately.

§1Checker

Certificate minimum-data checker — CEI-MS-14

Tick each field present on the certificate. Critical fields are marked; a certificate missing any critical field cannot support the corresponding claim.

§2Critical and recommended fields

A critical field is one without which an identity or content claim cannot be supported. A recommended field improves interpretation without being a condition of it. The classification of counter-ion content differs by sequence: it is critical for a basic peptide carrying multiple positive charges and recommended for a neutral or acidic sequence, following a partially accepted submission that the interpretive argument is weaker for the latter.

Nothing published by the Institute is medical advice, a diagnosis, a prescription, a treatment recommendation or a purchasing recommendation. Compounds supplied for research use are not approved for human or veterinary use in any jurisdiction, and a favourable analytical assessment of a supplier is not a statement that any product is safe or effective. The Institute publishes certainty ratings and never recommendations. No telephone number, messaging handle or ordering channel appears anywhere on this site.
