§5Regulatory status

§5.1Status by jurisdiction

Table 5. Regulatory status of AOD-9604 by jurisdiction, as recorded at the assessment date.

JurisdictionStatusDetail
All jurisdictionsNot approvedNo marketing authorisation for any indication
AustraliaRegulatory historyAssessed at one time as a novel food ingredient in a limited context; this is not a therapeutic approval and the Institute records the distinction
World Anti-Doping AgencyProhibitedGrowth-hormone fragments are prohibited under section S2
Research-use supplyNot approvedWidely offered with lipolysis claims that the human trial evidence does not support
Recorded at the assessment date. Regulatory status changes and this table is re-examined at each review.

§5.2Development status

Unapproved, research supply. Supplied as a research chemical; no marketing authorisation for the uses under which it is supplied.

§5.3Supply outside authorisation

Material offered by research-chemical suppliers is not manufactured under a marketing authorisation, is not subject to the quality system that governs an authorised product, and is not covered by any pharmacovigilance obligation. The distinction matters for this monograph because every efficacy and safety estimate reproduced in §3 and §4 was obtained using material manufactured under such a system. The Institute records supply considerations separately at §8 and analytical characterisation at §6.[1,2]

Nothing published by the Institute is medical advice, a diagnosis, a prescription, a treatment recommendation or a purchasing recommendation. Compounds supplied for research use are not approved for human or veterinary use in any jurisdiction, and a favourable analytical assessment of a supplier is not a statement that any product is safe or effective. The Institute publishes certainty ratings and never recommendations. No telephone number, messaging handle or ordering channel appears anywhere on this site.
